ÃØÃÜÈë¿Ú Helps ProMedica Get More Services Under One Roof

When healthcare leader ProMedica wanted to have more of its Northwest Ohio medical offices under one roof, and have a home for a new state-of-the-art Cancer Care Center to bring oncology services closer to home for the Perrysburg Community, they selected ÃØÃÜÈë¿Ú (RLG) as the construction manager for its new Perrysburg Levis Medical Office Building. RLG successfully completed this modern, 84,000-square-foot building in the face of both weather and supply chain challenges.

Navigating Design Complexities

The construction of this new medical building involved intricate design elements including a curved steel structure and extensive glasswork, as well as specialized exam rooms which demanded meticulous coordination with equipment vendors. RLG leveraged advanced construction technology to successfully achieve the finished product, including Building Information Modeling, clash detection, Matterport, drone photography, and other building technology.

Overcoming Obstacles

As soon as construction started in November 2021, RLG encountered both weather and supply chain challenges, together threatening the already tight construction timeframe. However, thanks to RLG’s established contacts within the construction supplier base, and its extensive network of subcontractors, neither weather nor the supply chain kept the project from progressing, nor was quality or safety ever compromised.

The Finished Product

The ProMedica Perrysburg Levis Medical Office Building is an 84,000-square-foot facility that houses:

• 89 examination rooms
• 38 physician offices
• 8 caregiver workstations
• 2 audiology booths
• 2 community rooms
• 8 suites for pediatrics, women’s health, ear, nose and throat, allergy, immunology, plus additional space for more services
• The Cancer Care Center, which provides services such as medical oncology, open and private chemotherapy, infusion services, and radiation therapy services
• The Cancer Center also houses a linear accelerator (requiring a room with 7-foot thick concrete walls), a CT scan, and 14 infusion rooms
• A Cancer Healing Garden, designed to provide comfort to those going through medical challenges

Reliability

RLG was awarded this project from ProMedica based in part on the strength of its success in other ProMedica projects, including The Steam Plant, the company’s headquarters in downtown Toledo, and its Neurosciences Center near ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Those projects, and others over the years, demonstrated to ProMedica that RLG had the necessary expertise and commitment to complete this project on time, on budget and with unquestionable excellence and reliability.
