Backflow valve inspections are annual requirements for most cities and townships. These valves require annual inspection to ensure safe drinking water, proper operation, and to keep your facility in compliance with local codes.
Skipping an inspection, or using a non-certified resource to conduct your inspections, could result in an interruption in your facility’s fresh water supply, as well as fines being assessed against your business.
A backflow prevention meter, or reduced pressure zone (RZP) valve, is installed within your plumbing system to protect both your facility’s drinking water, as well as your municipal water supply, from contaminants. In water supply systems, water is normally maintained at a significant pressure to enable it to flow from the tap or other fixture. If pressure fails or is reduced from an unexpectedly high demand on the water system, your backflow valve prevents contaminants from entering your building or plant’s fresh water supply.
Does your facility have an irrigation or fire suppression system, or maybe a large boiler system?
Contaminants can enter an irrigation system from fertilizer or pesticides that are sprayed onto your business property. In the case of a boiler or fire suppression system, water sits stagnant or trapped in these systems which can lead to a build-up of bacteria and increased mineral content from the piping system.
Only a trained and certified technician is qualified to conduct a backflow prevention valve inspection. ÃØÃÜÈë¿Ú’s FM360 team has technicians with International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, Backflow Prevention Institute (IAMPO-BPI) training and certification. They can perform your annual or bi-annual backflow/meter testing and any handle any necessary repairs. In addition, the FM360 team will take care of all paperwork related to annual inspections. Once your facility is in our system, you’ll receive a reminder when your next inspection is due.
Our trained technicians will handle your inspections from start to finish, to help ensure your facility’s water systems are healthy and functional.
